What to expect

What to expect

Snowscroll is always getting better. Here's an honest look at what's limited right now and what we're improving. We'd rather tell you up front than have you discover it later.

Current limitations

Notifications

Notifications aren't supported in Snowscroll yet. We're actively working on adding them.

Media in DMs

Viewing one-time photos and sending videos in DMs aren't supported right now. Regular messaging works as normal.

Stories & polls

Interacting with polls and some interactive stickers on stories isn't supported yet.

Music

Music on some posts, stories, and Notes isn't supported right now.

Calling

Voice and video calling aren't available inside Snowscroll. For calls, use the native app.

Creator tools

Some creator tools, analytics, and advanced account management options may be limited.

Posting

Some posting features are limited, including Close Friends story posting and certain reposting options.

A couple of things that aren't bugs

Login checkpoints

Signing in to some platforms (especially Instagram) from any non-native browser can occasionally trigger that platform's own "is this you?" security check. That's their security, not Snowscroll, and it's the same prompt you'd see signing in on a new browser.

If a feed briefly comes back

The platforms change their websites often, which can occasionally bring a feed back for a short time. We push filter updates over the air, so it usually fixes itself without an app update.

Speed

Snowscroll loads the web version of each app, so it's a little slower than the native app. Some of that is the tradeoff of how it works, and some is intentional: a little friction makes mindless opening less automatic.
