What snowscroll costs, and what you get for nothing
snowscroll is free to download, and the free version is not a demo. It removes the feeds on your first two apps and keeps working for as long as you want it, with no card, no account, and no countdown. Pro is there if you want the rest. Here is every price and every limit, written the way we would want them written for us.
What the free tier actually includes
Plenty of apps call themselves free and then hold the useful part behind a paywall. We would rather tell you exactly where the line is.
Free, with no time limit on it:
- Your first two apps, chosen by you from Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
- The short-form feeds removed on those two apps: Reels, Shorts, Explore, the For You page.
- Everything you came for stays: your DMs, search, your profile and posts, notifications, and the people you follow.
- Greyscale, to take the color out of an app when you want it calmer.
- Trends, so you can see your own time and what you are getting back.
- A global time limit across snowscroll.
Not free. This is the honest half:
- Apps three through six. The free tier stops at two.
- Home feed removal. The free tier takes out the short-form feeds; taking out the main home feed as well is a Pro feature.
- The extra feed and tab surfaces each platform hides in its corners, and ad removal where the platform allows it.
- Per-app daily limits, rather than one limit across everything.
The 7 day trial, with no small print
Everyone starts with 7 days of full Pro, from the moment you first open the app. You do not enter a card. You do not enter an email. There is no snowscroll account to make.
When the 7 days end, nothing is charged and nothing is taken away without warning. You simply move to the free tier described above, and you can upgrade whenever you like, or not at all. If you do nothing, you are not billed. That is the whole mechanism.
We do it this way because we think you should get to try the full thing on a normal week of your life before deciding it is worth money. A trial that needs your card first is really a subscription with a grace period.
The plans
Pro is the same set of features on every plan. The only difference is how you pay for it.
| Free | Pro monthly | Pro yearly | Lifetime | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price (US) | $0 | $4.99 / month | $29.99 / year | $69.99 once |
| Works out to | Nothing | $4.99 a month | About $2.50 a month | One payment |
| Apps included | First 2 | All 6 | All 6 | All 6 |
| Reels, Shorts, For You, Explore | Removed | Removed | Removed | Removed |
| Home feed removal | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Greyscale and trends | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Time limits | One global limit | Per-app limits | Per-app limits | Per-app limits |
| Renews automatically | Nothing to renew | Yes, monthly | Yes, yearly | No, it is a one-off |
A little arithmetic, without the sales pitch. Yearly comes to roughly $2.50 a month, which is about half of what twelve monthly payments would cost. Lifetime is worth it only if you expect to keep snowscroll for something over two years, since $69.99 is a bit more than two years of the yearly plan. If you are not sure yet, start monthly or yearly and move up later.
Prices shown are the US App Store prices, checked on 30 August 2026. All prices are set in App Store Connect and Apple converts them for each country, so the amount you see in your own storefront and currency may differ. The price in your App Store is always the price that counts.
Is Pro worth it?
It depends on a single thing: how many apps pull you in, and how far down you need the feed to go.
Pro tends to be worth it if you use three or more of the supported apps regularly, or if your problem is not really Reels and Shorts but the main home feed itself. Some people find the short-form feeds were never the trap; the endless home timeline was. Free will not fix that one. Pro will.
You probably do not need Pro if: one or two apps account for nearly all of your scrolling, and what pulls you in is the short-form feed. That is the common case, and the free tier handles it completely. If Instagram and TikTok are the whole problem, pick those two, remove the feeds, and pay us nothing. We would rather you stayed on free and kept the app than upgraded, felt it was not worth it, and deleted the lot. The free tier is not bait. It is the version most people should be on.
One more thing: snowscroll is a browser, so a few things work differently from the native apps. That is true on free and on Pro, and paying does not change it. Worth knowing before you spend anything.
How to cancel
Pro is sold through Apple, so cancelling happens in your iPhone settings and takes about fifteen seconds. You never have to email us or sit through anyone trying to talk you out of it.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap snowscroll, then Cancel Subscription.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends and the next payment does not happen. You keep Pro until the period you already paid for runs out, then you drop to the free tier rather than losing the app. If you bought lifetime, there is nothing to cancel, because nothing renews.
Refunds
Because every purchase goes through Apple In-App Purchase, Apple handles refunds, not us. You request one at reportaproblem.apple.com with the Apple ID you bought it on. Apple makes the decision, and we are not able to overrule it either way.
What we can do is help. If something is broken or is not doing what you expected, tell us and a real person will reply, usually the same day. Often the thing that made you want a refund is a setting we can fix.
Questions
Is snowscroll free?
Yes. snowscroll is free to download and free to keep using. The free tier covers your first two apps, greyscale, trends, and a global time limit, and it does not expire. Pro is an optional upgrade.
Do I need a credit card for the trial?
No. The 7 day Pro trial starts the moment you open snowscroll, with no payment details and no commitment. You are only charged if you decide to buy Pro afterwards.
What happens after the 7 days?
You move to the free tier. Nothing is charged, and you are not locked out. Your first two apps keep working with the short-form feeds removed. You can upgrade to Pro later, or never.
What is the difference between free and Pro?
Free covers your first two apps with the short-form feeds removed, plus greyscale, trends, and a global time limit. Pro adds all six supported apps, home feed removal, the extra feed and tab surfaces on each platform, ad removal where supported, and per-app daily limits.
How do I cancel?
Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, tap snowscroll, then tap Cancel Subscription. Apple handles it, so you never have to ask us. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge, and you keep Pro until the paid period runs out.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. snowscroll is iOS only today. There is a waitlist for the Android version, and we will email you when there is something real to try.
Keep going
Before you pay for anything, read the limitations we list about our own app, because a browser is not the same as the native thing. The FAQ covers the questions that are not about money, and what we can and cannot see explains why there is no snowscroll account to buy Pro with. If you want the plain version of what the app does before the plans make sense, start with the guide to using your apps without the endless scroll. The full billing language lives in the terms.
